Offered for sale is a rare early production 348 cubic inch Chevrolet engine block. This block was cast on August 8, 1957. It’s a truck block (same as passenger car except reliefs) #3732811, with the reliefs cut into the cylinder wall to reduce compression. While these reliefs reduce compression they also increase horsepower due to the fact they un-shroud the exhaust valves. This block has had $550 worth of professional work done including: pressure checking, magnafluxing, cleaning, shot peening, sonic testing and the mains have been align bored.
